GOP Meeting TONIGHT
We need YOUR help!
Hello Patriots ---
Don’t let the Republican party return to the days of preselected delegates and backroom, closed conventions. The last three local Republican conventions have been open to all bona fide Republican voters. Let’s keep it that way!
The Knox County Executive Committee (KCEC) will meet this Wednesday, January 15 at the Cedar Bluff Public Library located at 9045 Cross Park Drive, Knoxville, 37923 at 6 PM to determine which style of convention Knoxville Republicans will use in 2025.
This committee determines how the Knox County Republican Party functions in Knoxville. One main objective of this meeting is to vote whether the Knoxville Republican party will conduct their 2025 convention by means of a mass convention or a precinct delegated convention.
MASS CONVENTION
All bona fide Republicans (defined as voting in three of the last four state Republican primary elections) are eligible to elect party leadership.
Knoxville met in a mass convention in 2019, 2021, and 2023.
Over 90 counties in Tennessee use the mass convention to elect Republican Party leaders
PRECINCT DELEGATED CONVENTION
All bona fide Republicans must attend a convention in their assigned precinct
Delegates are selected from their precinct and sent to represent their precinct at the county convention.
If you are not elected as a delegate, then you will NOT be allowed to vote for party leadership at the county convention.
This approach requires two meetings and also drastically reduces participation in the party
COME TO THE MEETING
Come to the meeting and hold a simple sign that says: I support mass convention (beneath state South, North, East, or West Knoxville). Don’t miss your chance to have an impact in Knox County!
