KFL Call to Action

Protect Our Children

Greetings, Patriots!

This is a call to action for all Knox County residents!!

Seventh District Commissioner Rhonda Lee is again sponsoring a resolution to protect the innocence of children by not only proclaiming it but by taking action to remove county taxpayer funds from being used for obscene material and events aimed at children. This resolution was brought up last year and failed because several of the commissioners were afraid to cut funding. This should be an easy resolution to approve. You should be asking why they are okay (and sometimes supportive) of using your tax dollars for these events and materials, which are so explicit that places like CVS and Walgreens refuse to re-print the materials. However, the entities receiving your tax dollars (and some of the commissioners) must believe that children should be exposed to the explicit content, because if they don’t stand against it and continue to fund it, then they are complicit.

One of the recipients of your tax dollars is Visit Knoxville, which is a private company hired to promote Knoxville to potential tourists. You need to know how they are spending your money. The screenshot below was taken directly from the Visit Knoxville website. Visit Knoxville also uses part of their funding to subsidize the Tennessee Theatre, which hosted an all-ages drag show in 2022.

Please contact your commissioner NOW and tell them that: 1. We want our children’s innocence protected, and 2. We do NOT want our tax dollars spent on materials, events, and companies that attempt to sexualize our children. Visit Knoxville funding needs to be withdrawn.

Please show up in person at the meeting on Monday night to let our commissioners know that Knox County residents will protect our children, and we vote. If you are interested in speaking during the public forum, call 865-215-2534 or submit a request using their online contact form no later than 4pm on the day prior to the meeting. Or, on the day of the meeting, you may speak with the Commission Vice Chair in person prior to the start of the meeting.

And lastly, PLEASE share this email with your Christian and like-minded friends, and ask your pastor to share this information during your service on Sunday. We cannot be complacent; otherwise, we are also complicit.

Luke 17:1-2 NIV :  1. Jesus said to His disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. 2. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.”
