Recent Achievements
Knox for Liberty volunteers continue to champion faith, family, and freedom:
· Our Leadership Team held a Meet the Candidates event at our meeting on January 8. Over 100 people attended and learned more about the candidates for office in Knox County. The press joined us, too, including WATE, Knoxville News Sentinel and The Knoxville Focus.
· Our Government team has been sharing the news on the Tennessee legislative session. Please watch our social channels (see links below) and emails for Calls to Action during the session, so you can participate in supporting and opposing bills that will impact our liberty here in Tennessee.
· Our Marketing team has been busy making videos for the legislative session, companion posts on our social media channels, and updates to our website. Be sure to like and share our posts and subscribe to our video channels. It’s an easy way to help us grow.
· Our Membership and Recruitment teams are merging. Together, they are working on several spring events, including a family-friendly movie afternoon and several car shows. Stay tuned for the dates and locations, so you can plan to join us.
Events
On Thursday, February 1, the Children’s Health Defense Bus is stopping in Knoxville. They are collecting stories from those injured by vaccines and hospital protocols. These stories are key to supporting the changes needed to prevent future harm. Catherine Austin Fitts from the Solari Report will speak at 5:30pm. For more information, visit tn.childrenshealthdefense.org/news/bus/.
Please mark your calendar and join us Monday, February 12, for the KFL monthly meeting at 6706 Central Avenue Pike. Note the new date – we will be meeting on the 2nd Monday of the month for the foreseeable future, to minimize conflicts with holidays. Meet and greet starts at 6:30pm and the meeting starts at 7:00. This month, our featured speaker will be Melissa Langford, who will share her vast knowledge of homeschooling. We’ll share voting information for the March election and talk about election integrity.
Speaking of the March election, the last day to register to vote is February 5. Early voting is February 14 – 27 and election day is March 5. More information about elections can be found on our knoxforliberty.org/resources page.
Opportunities
One of our top 10 Tennessee legislative issues is State Sovereignty. Bills were entered last year on how our state can nullify federal overreach and we expect them to be resubmitted this year. If you want to learn more about nullification, watch sponsor Rep. Bud Hulsey lay it out in this video from last year’s session, starting at about the 7 minute mark. You can also visit the website of our friends at TN Citizens for State Sovereignty (TCSS).
Another top 10 is Election Integrity. A free app was recently introduced to help us secure our elections, called VotifyNow. At the votifynow.org website, you can watch several short videos and download the app to your phone. Take advantage of this opportunity to be a more informed and active citizen.
If you like what we do and want to encourage us to keep doing it, make a donation online or at our next meeting. Our volunteers are dedicated, but we have bills, like for our texting software, and we need your help to pay them.
