April 2024

Recent Achievements

Knox for Liberty volunteers continue to champion faith, family, and freedom:

· Our Membership and Recruitment teams held our first meetup of the year at Schulz Brau Brewing Company. Thanks to everyone who came out for great conversation, beer, and schnitzel. Details on the April meetup are below.

· Our Government team showed up for the votes on Advance Knox in the Knox County Commission, where it passed unanimously (hmm), and in Farragut, where it failed 3 - 2. The Farragut vote was a victory for everyone who doesn’t think the plan protects our rural spaces enough or ensures adequate infrastructure to support more housing. Our thanks to Farragut Aldermen Scott Meyer,  Drew Burnette, and David White who stood up for the concerns of their constituents against establishment power and developer big bucks.

· Our Marketing team has been busy making videos, social posts and website updates to inform you about the Tennessee legislative session (download the latest summary). We believe the session will continue for a few more weeks, so keep the pressure on our legislators by calling and writing them, while you are liking and sharing our posts and subscribing to our video channels to help spread the word.

· Our Leadership Team is planning our next Freedom Fest and there’s talk it could be combined with all the other groups in the Tennessee Constitutional Grassroots Coalition (TCGC). The tentative date is September 28, so please mark your calendar. Talk to Tracey via [email protected] if you know a good place for it or would like to volunteer.

Events

Mark your calendar and join us Monday, April 8, for the KFL monthly meeting at 6706 Central Avenue Pike. Meet and greet starts at 6:30pm and the meeting starts at 7:00. This month, our featured speaker will be Rhonda Lee, District 7 County Commissioner, so bring your questions about what’s going on in Knox County.

On Friday, April 12, we’ll have our next KFL Meetup at Creekside Good Food – Good Vibes, starting at 6PM. It’s a family-friendly and dog-friendly venue, so come out and bring a friend.

The Leadership Institute is hosting the Learn Right Summit in Nashville on April 19 & 20. This 2-day event will equip you to help save the American school system. Visit leadershipinstitute.org/learnright24 to learn more.

We’ll be helping people register to vote and learn more about our group on Saturday, April 20, at the Gibbs Car Show, on Sunday, April 21, at Cars and Coffee at the Westtown Mall, and the weekend of May 11 at the Expo car show. Please email Jesse at [email protected] if you can help out at our booths for a couple of hours any of those days.

Support us!

If you like what we do and want to enable us to keep doing it, make a donation online or at our next meeting. Our volunteers are extremely dedicated, but we have expenses, like our website domain and hosting, and we need your help to pay them.
