Hello, patriots!

It’s been another busy week in the Tennessee House & Senate. We’ve had some wins and losses, but the key to retaining our freedoms is to remain vigilant and hold our elected officials accountable. The best way to do that for representatives and senators is to follow the bills they attempt to impose on the people. You can find information about several bills we are tracking on our 2024 Legislation Summary. This is a great tool to monitor the progress of bills you find important and take action on several bills at a time. Please be sure to share this summary with your friends!

Bills for Immediate Action

HB2936/SB2749 Child Protection – Allows non-parent agencies to be involved in decisions regarding your children, if they deem it necessary. OPPOSE these bills by contacting the House Children & Family Affairs Subcommittee & your Senator before Mar 19.

HB1183/SB0503 Education Integrity – The bill summary refers to school credit cards, but this is actually Governor Lee’s school choice bill. This deceptive practice is known as a caption bill, a shameful practice of the Tennessee legislature. The House and Senate bills are hundreds of millions of dollars apart and there’s no way to know what the final bill will be. While we are generally in favor of school choice, this bill is a mess and should be opposed at this time. OPPOSE these bills by contacting the House Govt Operations Committee & Senate Finance Ways & Means Committee before Mar 18. HB1818/SB1580 Limited Government – Creates a recall process for elected non-constitutional public officials. SUPPORT these bills by contacting the House State Govt Committee & Senate State & Local Government Committee before Mar 19. You can also use the Tennessee Stands response tool.

HB1872/SB2770 Illegal Immigration – Increase the penalty for illegals convicted of violent crimes. SUPPORT these bills by contacting the House Criminal Justice Committee & Senate Judiciary Committee before Mar 19. You can also use the Tennessee Stands response tool.
